Under the new Microsoft Campus Agreement, the University will be switching from McAfee Enterprise Security to Microsoft Forefront Client Security for faculty and staff in Knoxville.
Forefront guards against threats such as spyware, viruses, worms, root kits, and Trojan horses.
In a cost savings effort, the Knoxville campus will begin transitioning from McAfee to Forefront for University owned computers.
If you currently have McAfee software on your computer, you should remove it now!
If you currently have McAfee installed, please click the link below to obtain the removal tool and run it to remove McAfee. Please return to this page and click proceed when you are done:

If you have any other AV software please do the following to remove it:
- Navigate to the 'Control Panel' — Start › Control Panel
- Double-click the 'Add/Remove Programs' icon
- Select the anti-virus product that you want to remove
- Click on the 'Remove' button to uninstall the software
